Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) is an educational self defense course for WOMEN only. The course is designed “to develop and enhance the options of self defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked.” The course is 12-15 hours long, usually broken up over 4 weekday nights. The first class is a lecture on awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance. The next three nights is a progression onto the basics of self defense. RAD has a free lifetime return and practice policy upon completion.
The Randolph Police Department fully endorses the RAD program, believing that it would be a viable option in a compromising situation. The department has a RAD team consisting of 5 certified RAD instructors. The program is offered FREE of charge to all women (ages 17 and up). RAD is offered two times per year or as the department sees fit. Please revisit our website for class dates and to signup. Upcoming classes will also be announced via the RPD Alert Network (click HERE to signup for alerts) and Facebook. Any questions please email the RAD Lead Instructor, Lt. Melissa Greener or call (781) 963-1212.
