SHAMERE ROSS, AGE 33, OF WATERTOWN was arrested Wednesday morning, May 29, at 318 Warren St., in Watertown, following the execution of multiple search and arrest warrants by the Randolph Police Department Street Crimes and Detective Units, the Watertown Police Department and members of the NEMLEC SWAT Team and NEMLEC Regional Drug Task Force.

ROSS was arraigned Wednesday in Quincy District Court on the following charges:

  • Armed Assault to Murder (Firearm)
  • Carrying a Firearm Without a License
  • Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building
  • Possession of a Firearm

On April 20, shortly after 2 a.m., Randolph Police responded to a report of shots fired outside the Mojitos Nightclub on Mazzeo Drive.

Through their investigation, Randolph Police learned that an individual, later identified as ROSS, had been standing in the parking lot and allegedly brandished a firearm as patrons were leaving for the night. ROSS fired three shots at a male victim, who fled the scene on foot. Despite multiple people being in the area, no injuries were reported during the incident. An occupied motor vehicle was struck by gunfire and ballistic evidence was subsequently recovered by detectives during the investigation.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate a suspect.

Through the subsequent investigation, Randolph Police detectives identified ROSS as the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued for ROSS out of Quincy District Court on May 28.

Search and arrest warrants were executed at 6 a.m. on Wednesday and ROSS was taken into custody without incident.

During the execution of the warrants, six firearms were allegedly located inside the home and seized as evidence, including three stolen firearms and one firearm with an obliterated serial number. The investigation remains ongoing by Randolph Police and additional charges are likely.
