Randolph Police Investigating Shooting at Gas Station

RANDOLPH — Chief William Pace reports that the Randolph Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place early Tuesday morning in a gas station parking lot.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., Randolph Police responded to 1370 North Main Street, Shell gas station, for a report of a man lying on the floor of the Seasons convenience store after being shot.

Officers located the victim, a 28-year-old Raynham man, lying on the floor of the store in front of the cash register. The man was treated by Randolph Fire Department paramedics and was taken by ambulance to a Boston hospital. The victim was shot once in the midsection. As of Tuesday morning, his condition was critical but stable.

Witnesses told police that the victim was shot in the parking lot and then walked into the store to seek help. A clerk in the store called 911.

Through the on-scene investigation, officers have determined that the suspect is a black male who was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and fled in a silver Honda Pilot SUV with a black female driving. The driver fled southbound on North Main Street (Route 28).

Detectives from the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.

The incident remains under active investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Randolph Police Department at 781-963-1212.

At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that this incident is related to a shooting that occurred late Saturday night where a woman was shot.
