Randolph Police Investigating Saturday Night Shooting

Police Seeking Public’s Help

RANDOLPH — Chief William Pace reports that the Randolph Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place late Saturday night.

At approximately 11:55 p.m. Saturday, June 13, Randolph Police responded to the parking lot of AutoToys, 517 North Main St., for a report of a person who was shot.

Upon arrival, officers observed a group of people in the parking lot, including first responders and paramedics that were tending to the victim. A 24-year-old Randolph woman was shot once in her right arm. She was transported to a local hospital and her injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

Through an on-scene investigation and speaking with multiple people who were in the area when the shooting occurred, officers learned that the victim was with a group of friends who were in a car parked in the parking lot, when all of a sudden multiple gunshots were fired and the victim was struck.

The rear windshield of the vehicle was shattered. No other injuries were reported.

The victim told police that she was sitting on the lower door frame of the front driver’s side door with the door open, when she saw a black male approach the vehicle from the rear just prior to the shots being fired. The man, who stood approximately 5-foot-8-inches to 5-foot-10-inches tall, was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with his hood up and gray sweat shorts.

Others in the vehicle and nearby neighbors said they did not see any suspects or vehicles fleeing from the area.

In reviewing surveillance footage near the scene, two vehicles were observed in the area of the shooting that appeared to be driving together. Two suspects were observed running from scene and appeared to enter a sedan that was parked behind the second vehicle, believed to be a Ford Explorer, before driving off.

Randolph Police are actively investigating this incident and are seeking the public’s help. Anyone who has information about this incident or saw anything suspicious in the area of Liberty Street and North Main Street last night is asked to call the Randolph Police Department at 781-963-1212.
