Randolph Police Investigating Shooting on Highland Avenue

RANDOLPH — Chief William Pace reports that the Randolph Police Department is investigating an incident where a man was shot Tuesday afternoon on Highland Avenue.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., Randolph Police responded to the area of 43 Highland Ave. for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old Middleborough man who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper back. The man was conscious and alert when speaking to responding officers.

Paramedics from the Randolph Fire Department also responded to the scene and transported the victim to a Boston hospital. His current condition is unknown at this time.

The victim told police that he was shot by a black male wearing a red, blue and yellow jacket. There were no other witnesses to the incident.

Officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate anyone matching the description given. A Quincy Police firearms K-9 also responded to the scene but did not locate any weapons.
